Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Chinese Ambassador Discuss Vital Issues Of International Relations

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Mamedov and Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Deguang discussed vital issues of international relations, first of all, in the sphere of disarmament. Georgy Mamedov informed Zhang Deguang about the results of President Vladimir Putin's visit to the USA "in the spirit of strategic partnership between China and Russia," the press and information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. A positive appraisal was given to the Russian and US adherence to considerable reduction of strategic offensive weapons which had been confirmed during the Russian-US summit, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. In addition, Georgy Mamedov and Zhang Deguang agreed that the 1972 ABM Treaty was an important element of the global strategic stability, the Foreign Ministry noted.
