U.S. Secretary Of Energy Visits Russia

The main objective of US Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham's visit to Russia is to attend the inauguration of the Caspian pipeline system, reports the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, an organisation responsible for implementing the aforementioned project. The Terminal of the Caspian pipeline system, which is designed to transmit Kazakh oil to the coast of the Black Sea and has a capacity of 32 million tons of oil a year, will be located near the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk. Russia, Kazakhstan, Oman and several oil companies from Russia and abroad /LUKOIL, Chevron, BP, etc./ hold shares in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The inauguration of the Caspian pipeline system is scheduled for November 27, 2001.
