Slobodan Milosevic Accuses Hague Tribunal Of Bias

Yugoslavia's former president Slobodan Milosevic has said again that he does not recognise the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, since it was not set up by the UN General Assembly. The ex-president was speaking on Wednesday at a pre-trial tribunal meeting in The Hague. Milosevic emphasised that the tribunal's activity is directed against Yugoslavia and its people. The former Yugoslav leader accused its judges of bias and NATO of brutalities in Kosovo. The pre-trial meeting discussed preparations for a February 12 trial of Milosevic who is charged with crimes in Kosovo in 1999. Milosevic is accused on four counts generally defined as "crimes against humanity" and "breach of laws and customs of war". The persecution claims that together with other senior Yugoslav and Serb politicians and military brass the president was planning "campaigns of terror and violence against the civilian population of Kosovo".
