Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov concludes his visit to Uzbekistan on Thursday. It is expected that together with his Uzbek counterpart, Abdulaziz Kamilov, Igor Ivanov will hold a press conference on the results of the negotiations which took place on January 9. The Russian foreign minister is confident that Moscow and Tashkent have identical views concerning the common values in forming the international politics. Igor Ivanov said this to journalists on Wednesday when his meeting with president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was over. Russia and Uzbekistan, he said, have similar stances on the struggle against international terrorism and post-conflict settlement in Afghanistan. According to Igor Ivanov, he thoroughly discussed with Islam Karimov the entire complex of bilateral relations and a number of urgent international problems. Moscow and Tashkent proceed from the assumption that both countries have good opportunities for all-round cooperation, the Russian foreign minister said. Igor Ivanov and Abdulaziz Kamilov also signed a programme of cooperation between the foreign policy departments of the two countries and an agreement on cooperation between the World Economics and Diplomacy University of the Uzbek foreign ministry and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian foreign ministry. Igor Ivanov underlined that Moscow is satisfied with the development of coordination of the two countries on the international scene. "We will continue coordinating our efforts because we have similar views concerning the common values in forming international politics and in solving problems we face", Igor Ivanov pointed out.
