Disaster for dolphins

Normally, 200 dolphins per year are found on French coasts but 300 in ten days indicates that something is seriously wrong at sea. One reason could be the nets trawlers use, which the dolphins are unable to detect until it is too late.

Another more worrying reason could be high levels of pollution. In the North Sea, the number of seals washed ashore has risen dramatically in recent years.

The practice of using the Oceans as a refuse dump for undesirable substances, including chemical and biological weapons, should be revised immediately to avert a tragedy which could destroy the planet, if such an event has not already been set in motion.
