Russia Helped Mongolia Cope With Loss Of Cattle

In 2001 Russia provided assistance to Mongolia to the tune of over USD 900,000 to overcome the after-effects of the natural calamity related to the mass loss of cattle because of fodder shortage and foot-and-mouth epidemics. Within the framework of this assistance program, the Russian government expediently sent to Mongolia 3.4 mln units of vaccine to inoculate cattle against the disease. Assistance to the Mongolian cattle-breeders was also provided by delivering food-stuffs and diesel fuel from the Russian regions adjacent to Mongolia.
