Sources Of High Radioactivity Detected In Georgian Woods

Four sources of radioactive radiation have been detected in wooded areas of western Georgia, in the Caucasus. Georgian law-enforcement agencies say that the located sources of radiation will not be contained and neutralized until after the weather gets warm. Three local inhabitants in Tsalendzhiha district were hospitalized Monday in a grave condition caused by radiation exposure. While walking in the woods, they had found metallic containers and decided to take them home, but abandoned them along the way. As experts see it, the radioactive sources can be dangerous for health only in case of direct contact, but pose no threat to the inhabitants of nearby villages.
