Yugoslavs Name Extradition Of Milosevic To The Hague Tribunal Most Significant Event Of The Year

By the results of the questioning organized by the "Politika" newspaper and the "Factor Plus" agency 25.8 percent of the respondents stated that the most significant event of the outgoing year in Yugoslavia was the arrest and extradition to the Hague Tribunal of former country's president Slobodan Milosevic. The second place was given to achievements of Yugoslav sportsmen, especially in playing types of sport. The most significant international event, according to respondents, became the terrorist act in the USA on September 11. The person who produced the best impression in 2001 became Vojislav Kostunica, President of Yugoslavia, as stated by 20.7 percent of the respondents. It is worth noticing that he together with Serbian prime-minister Zoran Djindjic and Yugoslavian soccer team which failed to qualify for the finals of the World Soccer cup, is already among the three people who disappointed respondents.
