Conference At Belarussian President Discusses Outlook For Belarus-russia Union State

Prospects for development of the Belarus-Russia Union State, solution of short-term questions were in discussion at a conference held on Friday by Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko with top officials. "This conference is very important. We have to decide on principles for conducting negotiations with Russia on mostly economic and political questions", said Alexander Lukashenko. The main question of organisational, state and political importance is the preparation of a constitutional act of the Union State, said Lukashenko. Other questions are principles to be sealed in the constitutional act, what will be the managerial organs of the Union State, their functions and structure. Alexander Lukashenko is sure that managerial organs should have supranational authorities. In addition, the matter of elections to the parliament of the Union State and their timeframe will be decided today, said Alexander Lukashenko. Alexander Lukashenko assured that Belarus as a sovereign independent state with own statehood attributes "cannot be lost". "There is no clause in the Belarussian constitution that would allow destruction of the state", said Alexander Lukashenko.
