Russia And Kirghizia Discussed Coordination Of Efforts Of The Two Countries To Fight Terrorism In Central Asia

On Friday the Department of information and press of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that first deputy Russian foreign minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov discussed with Kemelbek Nanayev, ambassador of Kirghizia, matters of coordination of efforts of the two countries to fight terrorism and extremism in Central Asia. The meeting was devoted to consideration of matters related to the status of practical implementation of agreements achieved in the course of the Russian-Kirghiz summit meeting in July 2000 in Moscow. The Foreign Ministry's statement emphasized that special attention was paid by interlocutors to cooperation within the framework of the Collective Security Agreement, establishment of an efficient security system in Central Asia the nucleus of which constituted rapid deployment forces.
