Moscow followed with interest the US State Secretary Colin Powell's speech in Washington on January 31, and fully agreed with the high assessment he gave to the significance and prospects of Russian-American partnership, Russian Foreign Ministry official spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said on Saturday.
In his words, the Russian-American partnership acquires a particular significance in the context of the fight against international terrorism and the interaction to diplomatically settle urgent regional conflicts and crises, be it the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, or the Korean peninsula.
Yakovenko also noted the readiness of the US Administration to conduct a dialogue with the DPRK and outline the guarantees of non-agression in the adequate form. Russia as well as the whole international community are ready to contribute to such fruitful dialogue between Washington and Pjongyang, he emphasized.
