2 members of a banned religious organization arrested

Two members of a banned religious organisation have been arrested in Tajikistan.

The two men, both activists of a banned extremist party called Hezb-al-Takhir, were arrested yesterday in the course of a search through the Somoni district of the republic's capital Dushanbe, the press center of the Tajik interior ministry reported on Thursday. They had on them more than 100 copies of various extremist editions.

Over the past three years, law enforcers arrested more than 300 activists of Hezb-al-Takhir, 200 of whom were sentenced to imprisonment.
