Two gunmen sentenced to long imprisonment

Two gunmen were sentenced in Vladikavkaz to 23 and 22 years of imprisonment for the murder of Russian soldiers.

The North Ossetian Supreme Court press service told RIA Novosti on Monday that Chechen resident Aslambek Labazanov and Ingush resident Musa Korigov were found guilty on joining an illegal armed formation subordinated to the so-called Ministry of Shariat Security of Ichkeria.

As members of an armed group, Korigov and Labazanov attacked in April, 1998, a road-train with soldiers. Gunmen fired small arms at the trucks near the Sagopshi village on the Malgobek-Mozdok road, killing five soldiers and injuring another 5 servicemen.
