The recent terrorist act in Grozny that caused deaths of dozens of innocent people, ultimately put an equals sign between the so called Chechen "freedom fighters" and mere terrorists, announced one of the prominent Dutch experts on terrorism Dick Leurdijk.
In his opinion, the methods, used by Chechen "rebels", are similar to common terrorist tactics that presume "deliberate attacks on civil installations and innocent people".
The expert stressed that he fully agrees with Russian President Putin when he stated that the negotiations with terrorists are impossible.
"I think that US President Bush would have done the same if somebody asked him to negotiate with al-Qaeda representatives after the events of September 11," said dick Leurdijk. "Such terrorist actions could not be justified by any political goals. Terrorists destroyed one of the few functioning administrative buildings in Grozny. The local government coordinated the reconstruction process in the Chechen republic from this building. There is no point in negotiating with people like these."
