Proton-M rocket-carrier launched with a Canadian telecommunication satellite

A Proton-M rocket-carrier with the Canadian telecommunication satellite Nimic-2 was launched at 02:17 a.m., Moscow time, on Monday from the Baikonur cosmodrome, reported the press service of the Russian Space Force.

The Nimic-2 satellite is meant to ensure radio and digital broadcasting for the users all over the territory of Canada and the continental part of the United States. The take-off mass of the satellite is 3,579 kilogrammes, the calculated period of its active existence is fifteen years.
