UN inspectors continued searching for mass destruction weapons in Iraq even despite Christmas

Despite Christmas celebrations, UN inspectors continued their search for mass destruction weapons in Iraq. Today they went to five Iraqi factories located in Baghdad and outside it.

A group of UNMOVIC chemical experts continued their inspection of the paper factory in Basra (550 km south of Baghdad). It is the first visit by UN inspectors to Basra since the resumption of inspections on November 27, 2002.

Two other groups are working in Baghdad, one group went to Kerbela (110 km south of the capital), and the fourth group went to the so far unannounced facility in the west.
