Agreement on CIS security bodies interaction prepared for signing

The expert working group of the CIS customs services at its December 17-18 session in Moscow recommended to agree to the proposal to the chairman of the Council of Customs Services Chiefs, CCSC, to sign an agreement on interaction between CIS security bodies and special services.

The experts also approved the draft procedure of using accompanying forms by the customs and recommended to present the document for approval at the CCSC regular session, the trade and customs policy division of the CIS Executive Committee's free trade zone department reported.

Moreover, the working group suggested that the Council speed up the submission of information to the CCSC Secretariat on the progress of the decision implementation.

The Secretariat should conduct analytical work to control the implementation of the decisions and to report on the results at routine sessions of the customs services experts in the first quarter of 2003 and at the CCSC session next spring, the experts believe.

The working group also proposed that Uzbekistan's customs service continue work on the procedure of the customs regime concerning temporary importation/exportation of automobile transport to the CIS states.
