Russian Minister of Foreign affairs Igor Ivanov presents his book "New Russian Diplomacy"

The world today faces the need to form a new world order which would ensure security of all the states and stability in the world.

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Ivanov said as much speaking at the presentation of the Japanese edition of his book in the Russian Embassy in Japan on Thursday.

"After the end of the Cold War," said the minister, "the world encountered new threats and challenges which can seriously undermine the stability in the world if the international community fails to find a necessary reply." Igor Ivanov underscored that Moscow "comes out for the development of constructive partnership relations with all the states and, above all, with our neighbours." The Russian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to all those who took part in publishing his book - "The New Russian Diplomacy. Ten Years of the Country's Foreign Policy" - in Japan.

"I would be very glad if this book helps the Japanese readers understand the inner philosophy of the changes which are going on in Russia and which directly concern the foreign policy of our country," said the minister.

Igor Ivanov presented the Order of Friendship to Taro Nakayama, a prominent Japanese politician, deputy of the key Lower House of parliament.

"Taro Nakayama is a good friend of Russia, and we think highly of his activity on expanding cooperation between the two countries," pointed out the Russian minister in awarding the Order to the politician.
