Georgia says kidnapped father of LUKoil's official may be released today

Sadi Sharifov, the father of LUKoil's Vice President, kidnapped in Georgia on December 2, could be released today, Georgian Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili announced at today's Cabinet meeting. He recalled that Sadi Sharifov had been previously kidnapped in 1993 for ransom. The Georgian Interior Minister reported a connection between these kidnappings since criminals, who had kidnapped Sharifov ten years ago, were already released. He also reported they were working with suspects now and the criminals involved in the kidnapping had already been identified.
