A session of the general assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (IBE) has opened in Monaco to define a seat for the World Fair "EXPO-2010".
All 89 IBE member-states are to take part in voting on the evening of December 3rd to elect among five nominees: Russia, China, South Korea, Mexico and Poland.
The Grimaldi Forum congress centre in Monaco launched this Monday an advertising campaign of all the five challengers which displayed on special stands their concepts of World Fair holding, mottos and slogans. Russia suggests the following motto to keynote the EXPO-2010: "resources, technologies, ideas as a path towards a single world." All the five contenders will hold press-conferences in the Grimaldi Forum through Monday.
Russia's official government delegation is led by Vice-Premier Valentina Matviyenko; Moscow is represented at the session by Mayor Yury Luzhkov.
Following Lithuania, Norway has joined the anti-Russian frenzy as well and declared a blockade against the Russian town of Barentsburg. However, Norway has not taken into account the fact that Svalbard is not its original territory
