Russian-UN consultations on Kaliningrad region to take place in Moscow

Today in Moscow the Russian-EU consultations on the problems of lifesupport of the Kaliningrad region in the context of the expansion of theEuropean Union will be held. The Russian delegation will be headed byDeputy Foreign Minister S.Razov, while the UN delegation - by DanishPermanent Deputy Foreign Ministry F.Petersen. The representatives of theEuropean Commission will also participate in the meeting. The major issueon the agenda of the negotiations is the settlement of the situation aroundKaliningrad. The parties will discuss Russian President Vladimir Putin'sinitiative regarding solving the problem of free movement of the peopleliving in the Kaliningrad region between the Kaliningrad region and therest of Russia. .
