Head of Kirghiz Foreign Ministry states Russia is its major strategic partner

According to the report of the RIA Novosti correspondent, on Saturday Askar Aitmatov, head of the Foreign Ministry of Kirghizia, stated in the wake of his negotiations in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov that Russia was the principle strategic partner, friend and ally of Kirghizia.

According to Aitmatov, the parties exchanged opinions on all urgent matters of bilateral cooperation and cooperation within the framework of the CIS and the Collective Security Treaty.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Kirghizia stressed that the present meeting was held within the framework of the political dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries. The dialogue, according to the minister, was aimed at the improvement of the mechanism of coordination of interaction between Kirghizia and Russia.

In addition to that the minister indicated that the present meeting provided an opportunity to consider the issues to be raised at the forthcoming meeting between the presidents of the two countries.
