Kaliningrad governor to meet with German President

Vladimir Yegorov, governor of the Kaliningrad region, Russia's westernenclave, will discuss the region's problems at a meeting with the Germanand Russian Presidents, the information and public relations department ofthe Kaliningrad region told RosBusinessConsulting. The meeting will takeplace at the residence of the German Ambassador to Russia on September 4within the framework of the visit of German President Johannes Rau toRussia.As it was reported earlier, Rau, with his wife, is to visit Russia onSeptember 2 till 5 by invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Aworking program of the visit starts on September 3. On this day the Germanleader is expected to negotiate with the Russian government and to takepart in the so-called Potsdam meetings of representatives of culture of thetwo countries. On September 4 the German President will deliver a speech atthe Moscow State Institute of International Relations and lay a wreath onthe Pushkin monument. Rau is also scheduled to meet with Russian and Germanbusinessmen and Russian public associations. In the evening of September 4Rau will leave Moscow for Novgorod, where he is to visit theNovtruck-Sommer enterprise and to meet with representatives of theRussian-German joint ventures in the Novgorod region..
