Tajik President considers criminal exploitation of people as bringing shame on country

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov stated on Saturday at the plenum of the Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party that exploitation of people for illegal or criminal purposes brought shame on the country, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

Rakhmonov emphasized on recent mass media reports of citizens of the republic, who go abroad in search of a living, getting involved in criminal goups by fraud, of children and women performing laborious work there, of illegal transportation of girls outside the country for their subsequent involvement in prostitution.

The President stressed that such state of things was contrary to good moral traditions of the Tajiks and was eroding principles of society life.

According to Tajik law enforcement authorities, in 2000 350 Tajik women were forcefully involved in prostitution abroad.
