The Ukrainian administration is concerned that the monthly hole in the budget of the country will soon increase from five to nine billion dollars.
Ukraine lacks money for military spending. In addition, there is no money to pay salaries to state employes. At the same time, Western countries are in no hurry to give new loans to Ukraine, RIA Novosti columnist Mikhail Katkov said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a number of Western politicians made a criminal decision when they blocked the allocation of another financial package to Kyiv in the amount of eight billion dollars.
The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, Sergei Marchenko, noted that Ukraine would need to receive as much as five billion on a monthly basis from the West to stabilize the budget.
According to economic expert Alexander Dubchak, Kyiv will be kept in a "comatose" state until all resources are taken out of the country.
"Then the West will end the financial support, and the country will collapse. It won't be long before that moment," the economist said.
