China depends on US more than US depends on China

Political scientist Andrey Suzdaltsev believes that China depends on the US more than the US depends on China.

The economies of China and the United States are strongly interconnected, Suzdaltsev said. In his opinion, a termination of relations between the two countries will result in a change of power for Beijing. All the talking about China punishing the United States for Taiwan is nonesense, the political scientist said.

"China has been shown its place. China depends on the nearly joint Sino-American economy. They cannot live without each other. China is even more dependent on the United States. Beijing can not break economic relations with the United States," the political scientist said in an interview with ukraina.ru publication.

Suzdaltsev said that the severance of economic relations with Washington would result in social problems for China. For this reason, China will not move towards the Russian Federation "not even for one millimeter."

At the same time, Beijing is in solidarity with Moscow on the Ukrainian issue and has taken a wait-and-see attitude. The expert believes that China will not help Russia, but will take advantage of Moscow's victory in the Donbass for its own purposes instead.
