Ukrainian official says Kyiv needs to rewrite history for defeating Russian world

Ukrainian official calls on rewriting history to defeat Russia

Advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Denisenko drew attention to the need to rewrite the history of the Second World War in order to defeat the Russian world.

"Our global mistake was that we will not be able to actually fight against the Russian world, despite our victory, despite everything, if we do not write our history of the Second World War," he said on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

He also said that the current Kyiv authorities need to write a "new history of cities and villages in Ukraine", since the one that was written in the 70s of the last century is already "morally outdated."

Earlier, representatives of the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated the inadmissibility of rewriting history, including the history of the Second World War.

Thus, on June 22, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov called for preventing the rewriting of history in America and Western Europe, in particular, equalizing the responsibility of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union for unleashing World War II.

At the same time, the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, noted that it was impossible to change history, since "the truth will break through and make its way."
