Germany supplies MARS II MLRS to Kyiv

Ukraine receives MARS II rocket systems from Germany

Germany delivered Mars II multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to Kyiv, the head of the German Defense Ministry Christine Lambrecht said, Tagesschau reports.

It remains unknown how many Mars II systems Ukraine has received from Germany. It was also said that Kyiv received three self-propelled howitzers.

On July 25, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine received three Gepard anti-aircraft missile systems and ammo for them. Kyiv expects to receive 12 more air defense systems, Reznikov said.

In June, it became known that Germany, together with the United States and Great Britain, were going to deliver three Mars II MLRS to Kyiv. According to the German Defense Minister, hundreds of rockets will be supplied as well, and personnel will undergo training.

Mars II (Mittlere Artillerie Raketen System) is a German multiple rocket launcher adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1990.
