The Economist names three conditions for the end of US helping Kyiv

The Economist reveals the condition under which the US might stop helping Kyiv

Funding for the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from the American side may stop due to economic and political instability in the United States itself, reports The Economist.

According to the publication, Democratic politicians in the United States are unhappy with the approval of an additional $40 billion budget to support Kyiv.

The material says that the United States may stop providing assistance to Ukraine due to the following factors:

  • The possible victory of the Republicans in the midterm elections, which will maintain the "balance of power";
  • The refusal of US residents to pay the economic price for supporting Ukraine;
  • The prospect of a protracted conflict.

At the same time, it is noted that the current US President Joe Biden "for unclear reasons" supports the conflict situation in Ukraine and calls for regular supplies of Western weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
