Kremlin: Russia is not considering the resumption of negotiations with Ukraine

Russia rejects the possibility of resuming negotiations with Ukraine

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that now the resuming negotiations with Ukraine is out of question.

“No, this is out of the question now,” Peskov told reporters when asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan discussed the resumption of negotiations with Ukraine during a telephone conversation.

Negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv began on February 27, three days after the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine. The delegations of Russia and Ukraine held three face-to-face rounds of negotiations and continued consultations online.

On June 2, Peskov accused Kyiv of freezing talks to resolve the situation.

“The Russian side has made its demands very clear. They are well known in Kyiv. It is Kyiv that is now, in fact, freezing these negotiations, ”he said.
