SCMP: The US beats Russia in the game of great Powers with the help of Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine provides the United States with an opportunity to restore its hegemony, and Washington will not miss this chance. This was stated by Chinese experts. However, having weakened Russia, the US will not stop. China, Iran and North Korea could be next in line, writes The South China Morning Post (SCMP).

If the United States succeeds on the Ukraine issue, then Europe may be faced with the fact that Brussels will now have to support Washington's global policy to strengthen America's power.

"Behind the scenes, one senses the specter of a struggle, and perhaps even a war, to restore the political and economic hegemony of the West," experts say.

Next in line after Russia, according to analysts, is China. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that Beijing is conducting "provocative and destabilizing" military operations near Taiwan.

The third might be Iran. Earlier it was reported that the US, Israel and eight Arab countries intend to create a "Middle East air defense alliance", which, according to Israel, is already deterring Iranian actions.

"Undoubtedly, the United States has planned military steps to neutralize the Chinese nuclear arsenal, but it remains an open question from a political point of view whether they will lead to a successful result," writes the SCMP.
