French Patriots party leader demands Macron to resign for betrayal of the country

French President Emmanuel Macron supported the development of Uber in France in 2015 when he served as economy minister. Against the backdrop of a scandal that has erupted, Macron is being asked to resign, Express reports.

Macron's assistance to Uber after police suspended its operations in the center of Marseille in 2015 was revealed on July 10. According to journalist investigations, Uber has flouted the law and lobbied politicians around the world for years.

The journalists also found personal correspondence between Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick and Macron. According to The Guardian, the French President went to great lengths to help spread the taxi aggregator in the country. He promised the company "a radical simplification of legal requirements." The deal between Macron and Uber management came amid protests from taxi drivers in Paris.
