Kyiv threatens counteroffensive and calls on evacuation from the south of the country

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk asks citizens to leave the regions under the control of the RF Armed Forces, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to go on a counteroffensive.

Vereshchuk did not name the date when the Ukrainian army would go to liberate the territories, however, she called for escaping from the territories where they plan to fight.

“Our army is launching a counteroffensive. I don’t know what time it will be, but I know for sure that there (in the cities of the proposed hostilities) should definitely not be women and children,” Vereshchuk said.

The representative of the Ukrainian government noted that the civilian population should not become a "human shield."

"Obviously, the enemy must be destroyed. It is clear that there will be battles, there will be artillery shelling, so we call for an urgent evacuation," the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
