The European Commission (EC) is working to create a mechanism for the transfer of frozen Russian assets and assets of businessmen from the Russian Federation for the restoration of Ukraine. This was stated by head of the EC Ursula von der Leyen.
“The European Commission considers it fair and is preparing a legal framework for the frozen Russian assets and the assets of Russian oligarchs to be transferred to the needs of restoring Ukraine,” she said.
Von der Leyen said that the countries of the European Union will not wait for the end of the conflict and the EU, together with the G7 countries, will hold an expert conference to prepare a campaign to restore Ukraine.
“Restoration will require enormous efforts. We have never carried out operations of this magnitude, so we will need to gather the most brilliant minds to prepare it,” she said.
