Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said Russian President Vladimir Putin had accepted Indonesia's invitation to attend the G20 summit in November. Ushakov added that he does not yet know in what format the President of Russia will participate in the event.
Yuri Ushakov said that Russia's participation in the G20 is "implied".
“They are inviting Putin in person, but there is still a lot of time, I hope that the pandemic will allow this important forum to be held in person, but I’m just afraid to guess,” Ushakov told to reporters.
The G20 summit is to be held on the Indonesian island of Bali in November 2022 in person. In April, the Indonesian authorities announced that they had invited Vladimir Putin to the summit, but the United States opposed this.
