Nike leaves Russian market

The American manufacturer of sportswear and footwear Nike will finally leave the Russian market against the backdrop of the situation with Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters, citing an official email from the company.

The reasons for this decision are not named. In addition, the journalists did not announce the exact date of closing the stores of this brand in the country.

In May, an employee of the company told Vedomosti that, due to operational difficulties, Nike had decided not to renew existing or enter into new business relationships with Russian partners. At the same time, the company continued to make all payments to its employees. In addition, at that time, the Russian office of Nike continued to work as usual.

The Spanish retail company Inditex, which includes mass-market brands Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Oysho, Massimo Dutti and other brands, also announced the suspension of sales of products to Russian customers. Inditex has completely closed shops and online sales of goods in the country.
