British attempts to send Ukrainian refugees to Rwanda provoked a scandal between London and Brussels. The UN warned that such actions are illegal, since the transfer to Rwanda threatens the lives of the displaced.
However, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he considers the plan to be legal. Moreover, he intends to propose a new regulation that will allow London to ignore the decisions of higher authorities.
The political elite of Britain begins to suspect Johnson of inappropriate behavior because of such decisions.
“Johnson's international spats will play out on the world stage. Some will like that he takes a hard line. Others will experience a growing sense of embarrassment because this man is their prime minister,” reports the American television channel CNN.
