Russian and Finnish Prime Ministers to Discuss European Problems and Go Fishing in Lapland

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov is to visit Finland between September 26 and 28 at the invitation of his Finnish opposite number Paavo Lipponen. According to the Finnish cabinet's press office, the two Prime Ministers will discuss relations between Finland and Russia, the EU's Northern Dimension programme, relations between the EU and Russia, and inter-regional cooperation in Northern Europe.

On September 27 Kasyanov and Lipponen will officially open the new Salla-Kelloselka border crossing between Finnish Lapland and the Murmansk Region. So far the crossing has had unofficial status.

The Russian Prime Minister will return to Moscow on September 28 from Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, after a fishing trip with Lipponen on Lake Ahvenlampi.
