Washington for making Georgia able to settling the Pankisi problem

Washington is for making the Georgian side able to settle the Pankisi problem, said Richard Boucher, the US State Department spokesman.

Richard Boucher stressed at the same time that the United States is training Georgian servicemen and that Georgia had sent troops to that district, trying to settle the problem of terrorists. The State Department spokesman also noted that so far he knows nothing of any assessment by the United States of the information on the situation around the Pankisi Gorge which the Russian side handed over to Washington last week.

On Friday when Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov visited the American capital US Secretary of State Colin Powell told journalists that the USA was thoroughly studying that information.
