Poland Proposes Wider Technical Cooperation with Russia in Military Sphere

Polish Defence Minister Jerzy Szmajdzinski intends to approach his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov with a proposal to widen technical cooperation in the military sector between Russian and Poland. The proposal is specifically aimed at carrying out joint exercises between Russian troops stationed in the Kaliningrad Region and the Danish-Polish-German Corps in Poland.

Sergei Ivanov is traveling to Warsaw today to participate in an informal meeting of NATO defence ministers. According to Polish news agency IAR, the main topic of discussion between Sergei Ivanov and his NATO counterparts will be relations between Russian and the North-Atlantic Alliance.
