Assassination of main anti-terrorist fighter in Daghestan connected with his activities

Investigation thinks the main possible reason for the assassination of Daghestani Anti-Extremism and Terrorism Department Head, Colonel Akhverdilav Akilov, is connected with his professional activities, Head of the Prosecutor's Office Investigation Department Mirzabal Mirzabalayev reported.

According to him, the notorious case about the act of terrorism committed on May 9th in Kaspiisk was solved under the supervision of Colonel Akhverdilav Akilov.

An office car with Colonel Akhverdilav Akilov and his driver was fired at from automatic rifles from two other cars at 13:10 Moscow time on Friday on the crossing of Shamil Avenue and the Batyrmurzaev Street in Makhachkala.

Colonel Akhverdilav Akilov and his drivers were killed.

The criminals managed to escape, one of their cars was found burnt later.
