"Russian Cosmonautics" Photo and Philatelic Exhibition Opens in Santiago

The "Russian Cosmonautics" exhibition opened in Santiago, the capital of Chile, on Monday.

The exposition, prepared by the cultural centre at the Russian embassy in Chile, has been organized in the Bulnes exhibition hall of Santiago University.

The event is being held within the framework of the international philatelic exhibition devoted to astronomy and space exploration.

At the opening ceremony of the Russian exposition, general coordinator of the international exhibition Raul Toms Lobos highly assessed the contribution of Russian scientists and cosmonauts to the exploration of outer space.

The visitors were highly interested in post cards and envelopes of the 1960s and 1970s with autographs of the Russian space pioneers Yuri Gagarin and Valentina Tereshkova.

During the work of the exhibition, which will last for a week, lectures will be delivered and films shown about the space flights of Russian and other countries' cosmonauts.
