It is very important to resume strategic partnership between Ukraine and India, Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, currently on a visit to Delhi, told journalists, following the meeting with his Indian counterpart Abdul Kalam on Thursday.
According to Kuchma, Ukraine regards the development of economic ties as a priority task, however, the expansion of cooperation in all spheres is also very important.
On Thursday evening Kuchma is scheduled to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and to sign several documents, in particular, agreements on extradition, mutual assistance in criminal investigations and merchant shipping cooperation.
In addition, the sides are to consider the fight against international terrorism and regional security.
The Ukrainian and Indian defence ministers have already discussed these issues.
