South Korean combat ships visiting Vladivostok

On Monday, a group of South Korean combat ships have arrived on an official visit in Vladivostok, the main Russian base of the Pacific Fleet.

South Korean Ambassador Cho Tae Ick arrived in Vladivostok from Moscow on this occasion.

RIA Novosti learned from the Pacific Fleet press centre that the visit of the ships was being made under the flag of Commander of the 5th flotilla of South Korean Navy Rear Admiral Jung Song Hak. The group includes the Kwangetto the Great destroyer, the Cheju frigate, the Chongji material support ship.

The agenda of the visit includes a meeting between the Korean military delegation and the Pacific Fleet commander, the governor of the Maritime Territory and the Vladivostok administration head. The seamen will lay a wreath on the memorial complex named the Combat Glory of the Pacific Fleet.

The South Korean seamen will visit the Pacific Navy institute named after Admiral Makarov, play a concert at the central square of the city together with the ensemble of Korean folk music and military orchestra and show the holds of Eastern marshal art.

On October 24th, the last day of the visit, joint Russian-Korean exercises on communication and manoeuvring will be conducted in the Peter the Great bay.
