US President concerned about North Korea

US President George W. Bush reported that he was going to discuss the situation around North Korea with the leaders of Russia, Japan and South Korea. Bush will meet them during the forthcoming summit of APEC heads of state to be held in Los-Cabos (Mexico.) Bush said this on Monday in the White House after his meeting with NATO Secretary General George Robertson.

According to Bush, he is concerned about information that North Korea is enriching uranium for creating, with the help of other countries concerned, nuclear weapons and deems it necessary to persuade the North Korean president to give up these plans and go over to disarmament.

Bush also pointed out that he planned to discuss this question at the forthcoming meeting at his Texas ranch with PRC chairman Jiang Zemin.
