Pet cemetery in Kiev
A pet cemetery will be built near Kiev (Ukraine) by the end of 2003.
It will be "the first park, where people will be able to visit graves of their pets" in Eastern Europe, said Mikhail Shparik, the head of the communal department of Kiev's municipal administration. According to him, "a special rotunda to bid farewell to animals" will be designed there.
The Kiev authorities have already set off 6 hectares to build a crematory and cemetery. Those, who wish, can pay money and make separate graves with tombstones for their pets, Shparik said
