Nationalist leader of Ukraine claims Poroshenko betrays national interests

The leader of the nationalist movement Right Sector, Dmitry Yarosh, accused the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko of betraying national interests.

According to Ukrainian publication Dialogue, on 17 September, Yarosh wrote on his Facebook page that "if Petro Poroshenko does not come to his senses, we will have a new president and commander-in-chief in Ukraine ... If anyone does not believe it, they can write a letter to Yanukovych. He will confirm that the impossible is possible."

He also noted that the vote in the parliament on the issue "has no meaning and legal effect", says RBC. Earlier, the leader of Fatherland Party Yulia Tymoshenko stated that the law on the special status for Donbass meant that Ukraine was delivering the region under Russia's protectorate. According to her, the law was supported by Communists, members of the Party of Regions and deputies from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko."

The law on the special status for the Donbass region stipulates local elections in the region on December 7. Throughout the country, special elections in the Ukrainian parliament will be conducted on October 27.
