Russian tourists recommended not to travel to Thailand

 

Russia's Foreign Ministry recommends Russian tourists should refrain from visiting Bangkok, Thailand, in connection with ongoing unrest in the city. In addition, the Russian embassy in Thailand advised all tourists, who came to the country, should meet all requirements of law enforcement agencies and avoid the places, where demonstrations take place.

Mass protests have been held in the capital of Thailand for several days already. In the morning of November 26, demonstrators encircled the buildings of ministries for interior affairs, agriculture, transport, sport and tourism, demanding the dismissal of officials. Earlier, protesters blocked the buildings of foreign affairs and finance ministers, as well as the department for government information.

People demand the resignation of Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra  who is the sister of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra. The latter has been hiding abroad after was convicted of corruption. Protesters believe that the offender shows significant influence on the management of the country through relatives.
