Barack Obama cancels meeting with Putin over budget crisis

In connection with the budget crisis, U.S. President canceled his trip to Indonesia for the APEC summit, where he was supposed to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

In addition, Barack Obama has also canceled a visit to Brunei for the ASEAN-US summit. According to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, the president was forced to take such a decision because of the complexity of traveling abroad due to the closure of governmental institutions.

Meanwhile, the U.S. presidential administration continues the budget negotiations with Republican leaders for the new fiscal year that started in the US on October 1.
