Russia and USA reach agreement on nuclear problem

Russia and the United States have reached an agreement on the nuclear problem. After lengthy negotiations, the two leaders agreed to cut the military arsenals.

The bilateral meeting between Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin took place within the scope of the summit of the Group of Eight in Ireland. In light of recent events between Moscow and Washington, this meeting has attracted increased attention of international media. The presidents discussed the struggle against terrorism, the situation in Iran and the Syrian problem.

Regarding the latter, each country still sticks to their opinion. There is a glimmer of hope that the coming conference in Geneva will change the situation for the better, when Russia and the U.S. are going to make the Syrian government and opposition sit down at the table of negotiations.

The next meeting between Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama is scheduled for September.
